Discover the latest in observability: Datadog's mobile updates, Elastic's new profiling agent, and more tech insights.

Welcome Back!

๐Ÿ‘‹ Happy Monday, you amazing #ObserveCrew and welcome to another weekly dose of Observability goodness.

Last week, we delved into some exciting innovations: Datadog's integration with OpenTelemetry, New Relic's AI award for generative code solutions, and Grafana's foray into mobile data Observability. This week, we're changing direction a bit, but fret notโ€”thereโ€™s plenty to keep your tech-savvy mind engaged!

Here's a sneak peek of what's coming up:

This Week in Observability
and Tech Resilience

IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Phew, what a week for Observability news!

  • CRN's Big Data 100 has highlighted some cool data Observability and DataOps companies for 2024. I have to say, it's impressive to see how tools like Acceldata, Bigeye, and Cribl are adding to our stacks and forcing the bigger players to pivot. We speak a lot about how Observsbailty is not just about monitoring anymore, so it is good to see tools helping us manage the entire data lifecycle.

  • Speaking of evolution, there's been some chatter about network modelling potentially replacing traditional Observability. While it's still in the early days, the idea of creating digital twins to simulate network behaviour is pretty fascinating. It's got me thinking about how this could change the game for network ops teams.

  • Oh, and get this - Dynatrace has become the first AWS partner to integrate with their Application Migration Service. This is huge for folks looking to migrate to the cloud without losing visibility into their apps' performance. It's like having a safety net during that nerve-wracking migration process!

INNOVATION TO WATCH

Sift Secures $17.5M for its Hardware Sensor Observability Platform: Sift's platform provides visibility into hardware performance, which is crucial for ensuring overall system health. With big names like Astranis and Astrolab on board, they're definitely ones to watch. It's exciting to see Observability expanding beyond just software! Keep an eye on this one! ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ.

MARKET NEWS

  1. Elastic: Impressive Acceleration, But Strength Is Already Priced In: Elastic's strong performance is already reflected in its stock price. ๐Ÿ“ˆ

  2. Datadog Welcomes David Galloreese as New Chief People Officer: With Galloreese's expertise, Datadog is poised for even greater success. ๐ŸถWhat is a CPO anyway? Let me know in the comments!

WHATโ€™S ON MY MIND

๐Ÿค“ I've spent my week catching up on some insightful podcasts, and I must say, they were a treat! Mirko Novakovic's episode on Spotify was great as he spoke to Jonah Kowall, an Otel master. Meanwhile, Dotan Horovits' OpenObservability Talks offered some logic on why so of us are all confused about Rediโ€™s move out of open source, making these a must-listen for anyone serious about mastering Observability.

FYI, while the book is being edited, I'm finishing a collection of free ebooks for all of you as a thank-you for your support so keep your eye posted for them

๐Ÿ’กRemember, Observability isn't just about tools and tech. It's about fostering a culture of continuous improvement and customer-centric thinking. So, let's keep learning, sharing, and growing together. Here's to another week of Mastering Observability! ๐Ÿš€๐ŸŽ‰

Keep exploring, stay resilient, and I'll catch you in the next issue!!

Warm regards,

Allan
